Too Much Fun!!!!

Hey everyone I hope that you all had a great finals week, if there is such a thing. Well I finished up on Thursday and came home for my mother’s 50th birthday which was also on Thursday. I had three finals during the week and think that I did well on them all, I should either end up with four A’s and two B’s or three A’s and three B’s so I’m not really that worried about it. Well last week we met with our future head coach of Montana Tech Football, well we met with the two finalists for the job. Our team was fairly well split on which coach we liked the most, they both bring different aspects to Tech Football, which is always a good thing.

So for my mother’s 50th Birthday party we threw her a surprise party out at the Montana City Grill last weekend before finals week. My dad and I went and snuck down to Idaho and got my aunt, my mom’s sister so she could come to the party. She found out that a bus runs down from Twin Falls to Idaho Falls for only forty dollars, so it’s way cheaper than driving or flying. We don’t get to see her a lot since she lives in Twin Falls, but when we do, we always have a ton of fun. So my aunt was here for ten days, we had to take her back to Butte so she could get back on the bus for her journey home. I really like it when she comes up and see’s us, we have a lot of fun, probably too much fun.

Well Christmas break came just in time; I need some much needed R&R. I will be doing some lifting, ice fishing, sleeping and gaming over break. Then next semester I will be taking five classes which should be a lot easier than my seven I took this semester. Well everyone If I don’t get back on before Christmas, I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thank You Coach Green!!!!

Well hello everyone, sorry for the break in between my last blog, school just has been really kicking my behind lately and I’ve been trying to keep up with everything. So if you all haven’t heard, Coach Green retired, he decided to call her quits after twenty four years of head coaching duties here at Montana Tech. I would just like to thank him for recruiting me to come play football at Tech and that I really have enjoyed playing under is rein the past four years. So I guess the search for Coach Greens replacement has already begun, I think that it will be a good thing to get some fresh blood in the football program, just like Coach Green said, the new coach will have twenty three new scholarships to give out, a new scoreboard and probably a new conference. Don’t get me wrong I really liked Coach Green and all that he has done for Digger Football. So hunting season is officially over, I shot a nice buck and then a doe, my dad and I both didn’t even get a shot off on one, it is the first time in about fifteen years, so that sucks that we will have to buy burger this year instead of having our usual supply of elk burger.

Reasonable Manner

Well hello everyone, I hope that you all are enjoying our first real snow day that we have had this year. I can’t believe how nice of weather we have had lately, usually its freezing cold with snow. My topic for this blog is going to be grading in the college system. When I say grading I mean the time it takes for our professors to grade stuff we turn in. I believe that if we the students are held responsible for studying for tests, or turning in homework on time, or writing papers, that we should have the right to have whatever we turned in back in a reasonable manner. I have classes that we turned stuff in during the first week of the semester and haven’t gotten back yet, which means that I don’t know if I’m currently passing or failing classes, which isn’t a good thing. I know that professors are really busy and teach many classes upwards toward five, but if they have such a heavy load they should not assign so many assignments, papers, or test that they will have to eventually grade. Not knowing where we stand in a class by a letter grade can be very discouraging, how can our school system expect so much out of the students when we don’t get anything we turn in back. So on less serious note, football is almost over which is very sad, I’m going to really miss a couple of our seniors. I can’t believe that I’m going to be a senior in football next year; gosh it feels like just yesterday that my parents were helping me move into the dorms before my first two-a-days. This season hasn’t gone at all like we planned it, but it has been a really fun ride and I would like to thank all of our seniors.

When I Say “brown” I Mean Elk!!!

Hey everyone, well hunting season has officially started. Today wasn’t the “official” opening day since they changed the regular opening day from Sunday to Saturday. Right now I really down care for this rule change since I’m still playing football and I can’t hunt on Saturday’s during football season, which means that the elk are already spooked for us on Sunday. But after next year I will really enjoy this new rule because then I can hunt a full weekend. So today my father and I went out hunting, we didn’t see any “brown”, when I say “brown” I mean elk. We did though run across a wolf, it was mind boggling, we were on our way back from hunting and we had one run across the road on us, it was massive and looked like a German Sheppard. This was the first time I have ever seen a wolf in the wild, I still can believe that I saw one. One thing that really bothered me while hunting today was all the beer cans my dad and I picked up on the trail, I bet we picked up ten beer cans; I sure would like to punch the person responsible. First of all who drinks and hunts and second of all if you’re going to bring crap into the wild just bring it out. I’m not a “tree hugger” by any means but it’s just respect for our wilderness and the sport. On a liter not I would like to talk about something at Montana Tech, I would just like to thank Chancellor Gilmore on a job well done while he has been in power. I really enjoy talking with Chancellor Gilmore on occasion a lot and really respect his open-door policy that he has on campus with all of his students. Even though we are not a very large campus, Chancellor Gilmore always has time for the students; even if the task is something as silly as pulling raffle tickets for our football team on home-games for our football team. I would just like to thank Chancellor Gilmore for everything that he has done here at Montana Tech.

Nothing Like It!!!

Well happy Monday everyone, if there is such a thing. Well this last weekend went very good, first of all we got a win against the Western Bulldogs for our homecoming weekend and second of all, my mom and dad stayed the whole weekend, which I really like when they do. So this weekend I will be traveling up to Helena because the whole Frontier Conference is off this weekend, which means that we all have bye’s this weekend which also means that have some much needed rest to catch up on. While in Helena this weekend, I will be doing some fishing depending on the weather, but for sure will be sighting in my hunting rifle for this upcoming hunting season. I can’t wait for hunting season to start, hunting is just so relaxing, there’s nothing like walking through the woods during a cold winter morning while the sun is just waking up and is coming over the mountain across from you. If any of you are hunters you all know exactly what I’m talking about and if you’re not you need to try it sometime. Well everyone I hope you all have a great week…..

Friday, September 24, 2010

Well everyone it’s Friday, I love Fridays! I love Fridays because that means that the weekend is here and we no longer have to get an education for two whole days, unless our professors who don’t I don’t think understand the meaning of resting our brains, gives us homework. Well we play Carroll College tomorrow, for first place in the Frontier Conference. Our record against CC hasn’t been good for the past years, but there’s just something about this team, a breath of fresh air that I believe will make us prevail over CC. I would like to talk about the Eat Shit Carroll Shirts, well this year we had to take off the “Eat Shit Carroll” off our shirts, I don’t agree with this at all. Football rivalries are a great thing that can bring together a school; I believe that there are a lot worse things that we could do. A lot of people think that having that on our shirts is “classless” but I believe that it’s just a shirt. Other colleges with much more heated rivalry than our Tech Carroll have shirts that are way worse than ours. I feel like it really takes the fun out of the Tech Carroll game when rules are applied to what fans care wear and say to and at games. I don’t also get how that CC can tell other schools what not to wear to games when they have a terrible setup for their tailgating before games. Us the players have to run through their tailgate before every game many times and they yell things at us that are way way way worse than anything we could put on a shirt, they also in the past have pushed players on our team, but yet we can wear a stinking shirt. So on a lighter note, the game tomorrow is going to be crazy, I hear that there are going to around 10,000 fans for the game. Well everyone I hope you all have a safe weekend, if you’re going to the game please don’t drink and drive and always, GO DIGGERS!!!!!!

Big Win!!!

Hello everyone, well to start off we won last weekend up in Havre, Montana against the Northern Lights. It was a very hard fought game and our defense, simply played amazing and really picked our offenses slack up.

Well these past two weeks of school have been awesome, last week I only had school one day, since I don’t have school on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, last Monday was Labor Day so no school and then Friday we left early enough so I didn’t have to go to any classes. So this week we don’t have school on Monday and Tuesday because of the Economic Summit, yet again I don’t have school Tuesday and Thursday so I only have school on Wednesday and Friday this week, jeez what a life, (LOL).

So this week we play the Rocky Mountain Bears from Billings, they are on a little bit of a hot streak since they almost beat Carroll College and then beat Western last weekend, so they will be coming into Alumni Coliseum ready to play.

I don’t know about everyone else but I’m really getting excited hunting season to start up, I drew a cow tag in 335 which is up at the cabin we usually go to every hunting season. I really hope that I can get back up to Malta with Vance this hunting season to try and shoot another buck, I really enjoyed hunting out of a blind, and hunting dear is just really fun to do, especially after hunting elk and walking your buns off.

On a different note I would like to talk about something that I saw today that really bothered me, people who ride in the electric carts at stores and really don’t need them. There was a lady at Walmart today that I saw get up and walk perfectly fine all the way out to her car which was our further than my truck was. I saw this lady driving the cart around Walmart and she almost ran me over when I was grabbing something off the shelve. I got really mad about it because the isle was jam packed and she was weaving in and out of people and just didn’t wait until it cleared up and I wasn’t the only person who got mad about it this. Don’t get me wrong, I think that if people really need these carts because they are older or really need them, but when people are just lazy it really bothers me.

Big Game This Weekend!!!

Well hello everyone, I hope that all of your first weeks of school went great. So my school schedule this semester is AWESOME. I only have school on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays. I have four classes on those days so I have a pretty hefty load. So this last weekend we lost our first game of the season. Our defense played out standing, our offense on the other hand just couldn’t get things rolling for some reason. I personally think that up front with our offensive line, it was just chemistry; we have had a lot of injuries during camp which means a lot of younger guys have got valuable playing time, which means that our starters haven’t played a lot together this fall. So my aunt Debbie came down for my first game this past Saturday, she came down last Wednesday afternoon and stayed with me at my house until yesterday Sunday. On Wednesday when she got here we went out to dinner at the Hanging Five, then my mom came down Thursday and then we went out to Metals for appetizers. My house was pretty full this past weekend; I had my mom, dad, sis, Vance, April and my aunt Debbie, so there were beds everywhere, but it was sure fun having the family together since my family on both sides don’t have family reunions and such. So when I got back from Denver my shoulder mount of my deer was finished up when my parents got here this weekend they helped me hang them on the wall, so take a look. This weekend we play Eastern Oregon, last year they beat us here in Butte but we beat them in Oregon so it should be a great game. Well everyone, I hope you all come out and support us this weekend at Alumni Coliseum.

Doctor Love!!!!

Hey everyone, I know that it’s been a while since my last blog. So here goes, last weekend my mother flew down from MT so we could go to the KISS concert in Cheyenne days. KISS was AWESOME, they might not move around as well as they used to but, they can still rock and still kick ass and the played my favorite KISS song, "Doctor LOVE"!!!
So really I just don’t have a summer anymore, I came straight to work from school and then I’m going straight from work to football. Which leaves me know time for fishing and camping in the summers, but I guess that’s okay, since this summer probably has been the most fun summer I have ever had, with going to concerts and Rockies games and water parks and many other things that we just don’t have in Montana. So I’m done with my internship next Friday on August 6th, jeez how the summer has just flown by us. I feel like I just pulled into the parking lot of my hotel for the summer with my mom.
So football starts in 11 days, good thing I have been working out and running all summer. I’m really excited to start football again, just not excited at all to sleep in the dorms again. Coach Green has the whole football team sleep in the dorms during two-a-days, so he can make sure we got to sleep and then wake up in the mornings on time.
I’m Montana bound for tomorrow; I’m heading up to Sully’s wedding in Hamilton, Montana. I can’t wait to see everyone like Shannon and Sully and Wacy and the guys and April and my mom and dad. Well everyone I hope that you enjoy my KISS pictures from the concert.

There’s Nothing Like Good Old Montana Lakes!!!!!

Hey everyone I hope you all had a great 4th of July! So April came down last Thursday and left this past Wednesday, we had a lot of great adventures. On Friday afternoon we went to Elitch Gardens which is a water/theme park, we didn’t like Elitch Gardens as much as we liked Water World. Friday night we went to the Rockies game which had fireworks after and to put it simply, they were the best fireworks that I have ever seen in my life, they put Disney Land to shame. Saturday was the Denver Zoo day, it was really cool seeing all of the different animals, except they had wild horses, and its like really people come on there horses, we have tons of them in Montana. Saturday night we went to Dave and Busters which is always fun and this time we ate dinner there and did a lot of gamming. I was talking with my mom and I told her that she wouldn’t have been able to handle me when I was little if we went there (LOL). Sunday, the 4th of July was a really beautiful day until it started to freaking rain like nobodies business; this was the first 4th of July that I have not shot off fireworks, what a sad day! On Monday April and I went to a reservoir about ten minutes from my place, and lets just say that it was terrible. On a not very large body of water there were probably around 200 boats. I found out that on the water there’s a speed limit of 45 MPH, I have never heard of such a thing, also to swim in the water you have to swim in the “swimming” area which is about the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. There was a whole beach to swim on and they make you swim in a 20x20 swim area. So let’s just say there’s nothing like good old Montana lakes. Tuesday night April and I went to the Rockies, we left in the 7th inning because the Rockies were down 7 runs so we decided to leave and wouldn’t you know that the Rockies would end up coming back and winning the game in the 9th inning with a walk off home run and we missed it, JUST GREAT!!!!! Well everyone I hope you all have a safe and good weekend!!!!

Adventures

Hey everyone, haven’t checked in for a while so I thought I would shout out to all my blog readers. Well April comes back down to Denver tomorrow and boy do we have some adventures planned. We have a couple of Rockies games to go see, amusement/water park and many more. I will post some pictures next week after see leaves. Work has been going good, just finished up with my second report; it was freaking 47 pages long. Easily the longest report I have ever written in my lifetime. I wasn’t to bad though, there seems to be a big difference when you are writing a report for school and for work, I don’t know why, but there just seems to be. So I started taking YOGA the other day and I really think that it’s helping my flexibility out. I have only gone two times and it already seems to be keeping me more flexible. Well everyone I’ll check back in next week sometime, to let you know how April’s and I adventures went.

Poke My Head In!!!!!!

Hey everyone just thought I would poke my head into my blog and say, “Hello”. Not much went on last weekend just laid back and relaxed since it was my first weekend in Denver without having someone around. Friday night, Elaine, Pat and I went to Bass Pro to look around and come to find out they have a restaurant there so we decided to eat dinner there also. It was pretty good and Bass pro is a huge store, with just about everything and anything you would ever want to buy. On Saturday, Tyler and I went to Old Chicago and watched the USA, World Cup game. It was fun, we went and ate some food and some drinks. That’s about the extent of my weekend, expect for large amounts of Call of Duty played on the Xbox 360. This weekend will be more exciting!!!!

Chucky Cheese on Steroids!!!!!!

Well hello to all my loyal blog readers. This last weekend was a blast, April flew down on Friday and I picked her up from the airport and then we went to Elaine’s house for ribs, which I BBQ. Friday night, April and I went to the IMAX to Shrek in 3D and simply it was amazing picture quality. We had gone to Clash of the Titans, in Butte this spring which was 3D and there isn’t even a comparison. On Saturday, was mall day. We went to Park Meadows, the 16th street mall and they Cherry Creek mall. April is not like most girls, she isn’t really a big shopper which is really nice. She does what I do when I shop for something, walks into the store, walks around for 5 minutes and if she doesn’t see anything she leaves. She’s not like my mom and sister who can and will spend hours and I mean hours in a single store. Saturday night, we ate dinner at Hooters, since April had never eaten at one. It was pretty good except I got too spicy of wings so I had to give them to the table next to me. After we bought our Denver Hooters shirts we decided to go and tryout Dave and Busters. We both had never been there before and heard it was really fun. Well $35 and two hours later we finally drug ourselves out. Dave and Busters is a restaurant that has games. This place is like a Chucky Cheese on steroids, no joke people. My parents would have never been able to get me out of that place when I was little. They have a gigantic claw machine, no jokes I think this claw could pick a small child. Well anyways I won April a huge dolphin out of it. Then on Sunday we went to Water World, which as a blast except for we blistered the bottoms of our feet, due to the really hot sidewalks. Then Sunday night was the Brazilian steakhouse, with Mike and his fiancé. Let’s just say, hands down the best meat I have ever eaten in my life and I mean ever. Well this last weekend was a blast; I can’t wait for her to come back down over the 4th of July!

Red Rocks!!!!

Well happy hump day everyone! So the week is halfway done which only means one thing, April comes on Friday.
This last weekend was a blast; we had a blast at the Rockies game and the concert. It was really fun booing Many Ramirez with the whole stadium, I think it’s really hilarious when everyone just hates a single player, especially when every stadium boos him in the MLB except for his own which I bet he gets a couple there also. I think my parents really enjoyed going to the game since it was their first MLB game ever, it was good to see them really get into the atmosphere, like by doing the wave and going down to the front row to try and get up close pictures. Then the concert on Sunday night was amazing, we all had a blast especially my mom, who is a rock’n roll FREAK. Red rocks is a badass place to watch a concert from, with all the rocks around you and you can even see Denver from it, so at night it looks really sweet. Well everyone I hope you enjoy my pictures and also have a good week!!!!

Rockies Baby!

Hey everyone well I can’t believe that it’s already! Well this week at work was more report writing which I’m getting really close to having number one of three done. I decided to tackle the biggest one first since it was two different companies until they merged in 2001. So my parents are in town, I know my mom just left this last Sunday and she is back already. They came down last night which would have been Thursday. Tomorrow night I’m going to take them to a Rockies game, which should be really fun since they have never been to a MLB game and it will only be my second one. Well on Wednesday Mike took me to my first Rockies game ever. It was so freaking sweet, going to pro sports I really don’t care what sport it is.
Baseball games are really fun to go to because of the laid back atmosphere in the stadium. The Rockies played the Diamondbacks when I went and tomorrow night they will be play the Dodgers so I will be able to see Manny Ramirez, which will be sweet since he is a more famous player. Then what I’m really excited for is when April comes down, one week from TODAY. We have some big plans for her trip down here; first of all we are going to skydiving indoors. I was watching the videos for it and it looks freaking SAWEET. Then we will be going to the Denver Zoo since April loves animals and I like zoos.
Then we are going to dinner with Mike and his fiancé at some awesome place where they have all you can eat meat (LOL). Mike told me it costs around $30 a person to eat but you never ever leave hungry and it’s the best meat he as ever had I his life. So one last thought that I would like to leave with you all, the light rail here in Denver is so much fun to ride. The light rail is the public form of transportation in Denver; it’s like the subway but above ground.
Mike and I rode it to and from the Rockies game and it only was $7 for the round trip. I like ridding it mostly because I can people watch, which is so freaking fun to do and also to talk with random people. Well everyone these are some pictures from the Rockies game I went to last Wednesday. Have a good weekend.

TGIF!!!!!

To start out this morning’s blog I thought I would say HAPPY FRIDAY! So this was my first week of work and it’s almost complete. Newmont is a sweet company to work for; they pay really well and also treat you like family. So this week in recap, on Tuesday we had our company softball game and we won by the way, I played short stop and it seemed like every ball was hit right to me. So I played baseball growing up but I stopped playing in around 6th grade and it seemed to come back to me just fine. Well work has been going really good I have four different projects that I’m working on. One of them is to develop an inventory list of our machinery and call the vendors and get quotes, find the expected life of the machine and take all their contact info so when Newmont goes and buys the machines it will be easy for them. Also one other project I’m working on is an executive summary of BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto and Anglo American on what acquisitions and mergers these companies have had since the mid 1970s. Then to add to the report I need to add all of the patents these companies hold from the last thirty years. This may seem boring but actually it’s really interesting to learn about the top players in the mining world. So it’s Friday if you all haven’t noticed and I cant wait to see what Denver has to offer for a night life, since during the week I don’t do anything but work workout and sleep. I think Tyler and I are going to catch the light rail to 16th street, which is down town. Then next we I’m going to go to a couple Rockies games, since I have never been to a MLB game. Well everyone I’ll snap some pictures this weekend I hope you all had a great week and TGIF……… This picture is of my office here at Newmont, it's legit, I even have a window.

First Couple Days!!!!!!

Wow everyone what an internship I have at Newmont. Today was only my first day and I already had a blast, this summer is going to be the best EVER. So to start out, my room is crazy sweet, it has a flat screen TV, king size bed and full kitchen. I was a little skeptical about the hotel at first, I didn’t know if they were going to give the interns the small rooms or something. But know, I don’t think so I have my own room and also have a pull out couch. So work today was orientation from 8 till around noon and then we went over to our work and I got a little more orientation then got to take off for the gym. So I’m working out at the Colorado Athletic Club, this place is huge. So when I say huge I mean freakin huge. It has everything basketball, weights, cardio, racquetball, tennis, swimming pools, restaurant, and then in the locker room there is free shampoo and conditioner in the showers. Also there’s flat screen TV’s everywhere, even in the locker room. Then the spa area in the locker room has the biggest hot tub that I have ever seen, also a wet sauna and dry sauna. This place has it all (LOL)……Well everyone I will check back in later and let you know how work is going………

Denver Here I Come!!!!!

Well everyone, my junior year is coming to an end. It seems just like yesterday my parents were helping me move into the dorms and my first year of football started. I only have two finals tomorrow, and then I will have it all wrapped up and another successful year checked off. I couldn’t believe that I already signed up for my senior year of college; gosh how time flies. I will have a hefty load of twenty three credits this coming fall semester, which is a lot to take during football, but one class I will be taking is an internship class which I will have completed this summer, and then another class is on-line and should be really easy. So I leave for Denver on Friday, and my mom is riding down with me so she can see her best friend who lives in Denver, and then she will fly back. I’m pretty much all packed up and have just been doing some cleaning around my house so I can come back this fall to a clean house.
So I will be staying at the Staybridge Suites, and when I was checking out their website, the rooms look really nice and legit. This place has free breakfast every morning, and I heard that three days a week they have free dinner. So I really only have to pay for my own lunches every day, and I’ll probably pack my lunch to work every day like I did last summer at MDT. So I have a new girlfriend everyone, and her name is April. We have been dating for a little over three months and she is from Helena. I went to high school with her at Helena High. I thought I would tell you all about her since I’m sure I will be talking about her in future blogs. So as some of you may have known, I have been serving on the basketball search committee. We had 90 applicants and had narrowed down that pool to ten applicants that we phone interviewed. Then we had chosen three to bring in to Butte for interviews. I liked all three applicants a lot but really liked Aaron Woliczko who we decided to choose and who I think will help rebuild our basketball program and lead us to a conference championship. I think he will bring what we need to Tech basketball. With our basketball program having been in the dumps since I’ve been at Tech, I hope this fresh blood will be good. Well everyone, my next blog will be coming from Denver, Colorado. Have a good week and students study hard!!!!!

29 Days Left!!!!!

Well happy snow day everyone. Today all over the state it has been snowing a boat load. So I don’t have to watch the Weather Channel anymore to see what the weather is around the state. All I have to do is get on Facebook and see all the status updates from my friends around the state that say, “Crap it’s snowing” or “why snow today” (LOL).
So football has been going good so far this spring, and we only have two weekends of scrimmages left. This coming weekend the Grizzles are coming to do their final scrimmage of the year, and then next weekend we will have our Green/White game which is our final big scrimmage of the spring. With only 30 days left until I leave for Denver, my excitement is mounting by the day. I have a lot of things to do before my trip down to Denver for the summer. Something crazy happened to me today: I signed up for my first semester of my senior year of college. It seems like just yesterday that my parents were helping me move into my dorm room. So this summer I have two trips planned. One is to Las Vegas with my best friend Ryan and some of his teammates from Missoula and then to Wendover, Nevada for Sully’s bachelor party. Then at the very end of the summer, I will come back to Montana for Sully’s wedding. Well everyone, I hope you’re keeping warm and dry with that snow coming down so hard.

Count Down!!!!!

So Spring Break was a blast! I did lots of fishing and watched the opening of March Madness. I went fishing with my dad and Vance three times and once with my dad and our friend Bill. The first couple of times we went fishing it was pretty slow, but it really picked up this last Saturday. We caught nineteen Trout, but only kept four, and hooked a really nice six-pounder. It felt really good to get out of school and Butte for a while and hangout with my parents and April. So April is my new girlfriend. We started to hangout over Xmas break, and now we’re dating. She went to Helena High with me but graduated a year behind me. So I heard that since Kansas lost in the tournament that forty-five percent of all brackets are screwed. I have two brackets for March Madness, and in one bracket I had Kansas winning it all, so I threw that bracket away. In my other bracket I have Kentucky and Syracuse playing with Kentucky winning it all. So I have officially started the countdown, and we only have thirty-eight days of school left, which means I’m only thirty-eight days away from leaving for Denver. I’m getting really excited to go down to Denver for the summer. Since I’ve only lived in Montana City and Butte in my life, I’m really excited to see what it’s like to live in a huge city with over a million people. So football starts this week, and we get our pads tomorrow; I’m excited to get back out on the field and do some hitting. The only thing that I don’t like about spring ball is the weather. Well everyone, I hope you all have a good week.

Mullet Fest......

Well everyone, we have officially started the countdown here at Montana Tech until Spring Break. We only have eight more days until a week of freedom. I plan on doing a lot of fishing and a lot of couching. When I say couching, I mean lying on the couch doing absolutely nothing for a week. Well lately school has been going pretty good, and tomorrow, Friday, is our last day of winter conditioning, which means that I don’t have to get up at five-thirty in the morning anymore. Next week is our max tests for lifting, and I should be putting up some pretty solid numbers. So this weekend is Mullet Fest here in Butte and Tech. The school is starting to get excited and people are making arrangements for it. For those of you who don’t know what Mullet Fest is, it’s a softball tournament. A lot of people shave their hair into mullets and dress up for the occasion. I have my sister and Vance coming down, along with April, Ashten, a girl I grew up with, and Ryan, my best friend from Helena who will be bringing a couple of his buddies. We should have a pretty stacked team, and this year’s winners get one thousand dollars. So my house is going to be packed this weekend, but I’m really excited to have everyone down. Well everyone, I hope you all have a good weekend….I’ll post some pictures from this weekend next week……

Denver Here I come!!!!!!

Hey everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your three-day break as much as I did. It just felt really nice to have three days off of school and work. My body sure needed a lot of R&R since my weeks are so hectic and busy. It felt good just to lie on the couch and watch the Olympics. Well let’s see, I’m getting really excited about going to Denver for this summer and working for NEWMONT. I have only lived in Montana City and Butte, and they really aren’t big towns. I think it’s going to be really fun to live in a huge town like Denver; it’s just a whole different type of lifestyle there than in Montana. I already plan on going to as many Rockies games as possible. I have never been to a MLB game, but I hear that they are really fun. Also, I hope the Denver Nuggets make it deep into the playoffs, so I can catch a couple of their games. I have been to a couple NBA games, and they are really fun. Being from Montana, we don’t have any professional sports teams at all, so being able to go to these pro sporting events and actually see guys like Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups play is something I would love to see. Also, I’m excited for the night life that Denver has with all of the concerts going on and other events like water parks and amusement parks. I’m just getting myself all fired up (LOL). My parents plan on coming down to see me since my mom’s best friend lives in Denver. It will be really nice to have some people down in Denver that I can go see so I don’t get lonely. My mom has been checking the concert schedule religiously so she can plan her trip down there and see some rocking concerts. My one buddy Josh only lives two hours away and another friend only three or four hours away, so I assume I will be seeing them some this summer. Also I’m trying to talk my Aunt Debbie into coming down for a couple of days. So I will keep trying my dandiest to keep that talk going. Well everyone, I hope you all have a great SHORT week, cause I know I will.

We Have People Starving......

Hey everyone! Well with school back in and football starting up, my schedule is pretty slammed this semester. I have already started the countdown: we only have forty-one days until SPRING BREAK, and I can’t wait. I will probably go home and fish most of the time with my dad and Vance. A lot of people are taking trips during SPRING BREAK, but I think that I’m going to save my money and try to make a trip down to Cancun during next Christmas Break with my buddies. So elections are coming up here pretty soon for the ASMT executive positions. I will be running for President this time around, since I couldn’t last year because you have to be a senior to be President. But I gained a lot of good experience being Vice President first. I would really appreciate your vote in the upcoming elections. So one thing that has been really chapping my you-know-what lately is that the NBA, NFL, MLB, and NASCAR are giving so much money to the earthquake relief in Haiti. I know that this is a terrible event, and I know that it’s really bad over there, but don’t you think that we have problems here in the USA also? We have people starving on the streets and people living homeless and WAR VETERANS starving to death. I understand that it’s really bad over in Haiti and that we should help them out, but it’s just hard for me to watch all these commercials about sending money to Haiti when we have kids starving and dying here in the USA every day. Now don’t get me wrong, I really do think we should help them out. I think it’s great that big names like Dwayne Wade and LeBron James are donating money. Haiti is in a lot worse shape than here in the USA. But when this is all over Dwayne Wade and LeBron James should be trying to raise awareness on commercials for starving families or WAR VETERANS here.

Books Suck!!!!

Good afternoon, everyone. I hope all of you students had a great three day break like me. Well it’s official: football offseason has officially begun. Last night we did our 20’s, vertical jump, height & weight and digger agility. Now the next three days we will be doing our max lifting so we can base our lifting schedule for the next three months. It felt really good to get back with the team and see everyone again. It’s weird being with the football team from August till November, and then it seems like everyone has their own clicks outside of football. The topic for the rest of my blog is going to be books. I think that it is absolutely ridiculous that our books for school are so freaking expensive. My total for books for just this current semester was $600. Now how are college students who are broke as it is, expected to pay that much money for one semester of books? So let’s say on average you pay $600 per semester and you go five years like me, that’s a total of $6,000 just for freaking books. I even bought my books off the internet which probably saved me somewhere around $200. I think that you should be able to rent the books from the bookstore for a flat rate of like $25 or $50, and then at the end of the semester, if you don’t wreck the book or lose it you will get your money back. You might ask well what happens if I rented a book and never returned it, well you would get charged full price for it and it would just go on to your student fees. Well everyone I hope you all have a great week!!!!!!!!

Denver Here I Come!!!!!

Back to the grindstone we go everyone. School has officially started back up, which means I’m that closer to going to Denver for my internship with NEWMONT. I’m so excited to spend the summer in Denver and test out the big city. My boss is coming up here to Tech this week, and we will be meeting to discuss some fine details about my internship. I’m even taking Process of Particulate Systems, which is a metallurgy class. My boss wanted me to take this so I’m more fluent with lingo, which is kind of exciting. This semester I will be taking nineteen credits, while having spring football and also doing the ASMT thing. If you haven’t heard, we are getting a new HPER complex here at Tech. They have already gone through the process of hiring the construction company and everything. I have been chosen to represent the students’ opinion in this important process. I will be mostly representing the athletes here on campus since I’m a football player. I thought it was really an honor that I was chosen. This Christmas Break was the sweetest ever. I hung out with a lot of my old high school friends and saw a lot of people that haven’t seen since graduation. I didn’t hang out with the family as much as I would have liked, but I had a lot of fun going out and letting my hair down, so to say, for once. Last semester seemed to drag on towards the end, and I just needed to have fun. I turned twenty-one over break and it feels awesome to be twenty-one. I still can’t believe that I’m already twenty-one years old, it feels like just yesterday I was having my birthday at the Adventure Zone in Helena, if you want to talk about a fun birthday party. Well Vance and I went ice fishing on Sunday, and we caught ten Perch. That’s not a lot by any means, but we did lose four or five each. Since we caught so many Perch at our spot last year, we GPS marked it so we could find the spot every time. Our spot wasn’t as hot as it should be, but from the sounds of it, we had a good day compared to everyone else. I can’t believe how big the Perch are this year; I bet that four or five of our Perch were pounders, which are a pretty darn nice Perch. Well everyone, I have to get my class stuff ready, so I will chat with you all later.

VEGAS BABY...........

Well everyone I finally got my account fixed and I’m back in action. My account password wouldn’t log me into my account and I apologize that I have kept everyone waiting. So let’s see, my Christmas went great. Autumn, Vance and Brad came over to open presents on Christmas Eve and then Autumn and Vance went up to Malta for Christmas but Brad still came over for Christmas dinner. Then two days after Christmas was my 21st birthday. Yes everyone I’m legal to drink now. Me and a couple of my buddies went out around Helena and had a great time. So then on New Year’s Eve I left for VEGAS. Me Sully, Atrain, Chuck , Bo and Wacy all drove down to VEGAS for a couple days and then we are going to Glendale Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl which will be so sweet. We are going to paint our bodies, be looking up in the end zone, that’s where we will be sitting. So we will be getting up early in the morning so we can try and go buy some tickets to the Packers and Cardinals game. I have never been to an NFL game so I really want to go and try to get tickets. I guess if we don’t we will be going to a pub or something to watch the other football games. Then on the way back we will be playing it by ear on if we will drive back in one day or break it up. Well everyone now that my account is working again I will check back in after I get back this next week.
