Super Bowl Sunday

This is one of my favorite week ends of the year; if you can’t guess why its Super Bowl weekend. As many will say my Cowboys just plain old choked like usual. This Super Bowl I will rooting for the New York Giants to upset the New England Patriots. Well this week has gone pretty good so far I have no complaints, we started to do mandatory lifting this week and let’s just say it hurts to brush my teeth. We lift Monday through Friday except on Wednesday’s. On Monday’s and Thursday’s we lift all upper body and Tuesday’s and Friday’s we lift all lower body. So last week I signed up for the career service and made an appointment for today to meet with the director so she could help me with my resume. Our meeting went very well she helped me figure a wide variety of things on my resume; she even helped me figure out what different sorts of summer internships I should apply for. I have another meeting next Wednesday; at this meeting we will be going over my revised resume that I will have for her. I’m excited to get my resume done and look at all the different internships.

The day of all days

Well the big ice fishing derby was a huge success for my dad and I. The morning started out normal, getting loose ends together and making lunches. Then after we left the house we had to stop and get gas then we finally made it out to the Silos and bought our derby tickets. We packed our four wheelers up and headed out on the ice, but we had a few minor difficulties before we made it to our fishing spot. First my dad tipped over his sled he was pulling then I got high centered in a snow drift, my dad had to winch me out with his four wheeler and finally my dad rolled his sled he was pulling but that kind of was my fault. When we started to fish we were next to a huge pressure ridge and we didn’t catch a thing; we were only there for twenty minutes. Then we moved and my dad told me we could move to a spot of my choosing so we went over this pressure ridge “carefully” and then ended up six miles from our starting point. We started to fish and we caught a couple and then WHAM we caught our limit in probably two hours. Then after that we just sized up our limit. I caught a huge perch, but I in the derby it didn’t even place, this perch weighed .83 of a pound it was the biggest one I have ever caught. The derby was so much fun, hanging out with my dad and just doing something I love to do, fish.

Prime Time Bull Elk

What a crazy week it has been, so on Monday I was woken up to my dad telling me to get out of bed and to come out into the living room, it was around 6 in the morning. He had me look through the spotting scope and to my surprise I was looking at seven monster prime time bull elk and that’s how my week started off. Then I made my trip back to Butte and it was freezing cold out side, I had to pack some stuff into my room. Then that night I had a football testing workout, they tested our vertical jumps, Digger shuttles, 20’s, height and weight I was very pooped after this. Then on Tuesday through Thursday our weights were measured our bench press, squat and power clean. I think that I did pretty well on these lifts I benched 320 LBS, squatted 485 LBS and cleaned 245 LBS I went up on all of my lifts since the last time I had maxed. Thursday was a very sad day for me, a very close friend’s dad died and his funeral was on Thursday what a very very sad day. On a brighter subject tomorrow is the big perch derby that I have waiting for since the first day the ice was froze. I will have an update on how I did this weekend in my next blog. Well the derby will be a great end my crazy week I hope I really do well.

Snow Snow Snow

My first week of school went pretty well, it was kind of hard to get back into the swing of things like doing homework and getting up for class again. After my classes were over everyday me and a couple of friends started to play Madden. On Friday my girlfriend stopped in Butte on her way back to college; she goes to Missoula. So Friday night we went to the Gold Rush to have dinner and actually it wasn’t too bad. After we had dinner I gambled and lost some money and then met up with my roommate down at the King Pin to go bowling but they had two birthday parties so it was packed. So we headed back to the dorms and played a quick game of Madden and then played Guitar Hero for about two hours. I made my way home Saturday morning and it was just in time, it started to snow very hard just when I pulled into the drive way. This morning I woke to my mom poking me to wake up, she told me that she had made pancakes and bacon for breakfast and then she told me that it had snowed ten inches. So this whole morning I’ve been shoveling snow and my dad has been plowing with our four-wheeler. Well the trip home tomorrow will be very interesting with all the snow.

Round Two Ding Ding Ding

Well my second semester has started out very well and I’m taking seventeen credits this spring, I really like all of my classes and teachers. On Monday my girlfriend and her mom made the trip down from Helena for her dad’s Birthday, so we were able to hangout and run out to Walmart to look at a new MP3 player and grab a few needed school supplies. Class for me doesn’t start until 11 every morning so this gives me a chance to workout. I get up at 7 in the morning and go lift weights and then either run on the treadmill or run championship runs so I can start to get into shape for winter conditioning. Well having a semester of college under my belt I think will benefit me tremendously in the way of knowing how to study for tests, doing homework and just regular old college life. I really hope this semester goes as good as last semester went.

A race against the clock

Well this weekend was really fun I did what I love to do fish and sleep. I went ice fishing with my dad and our friend Bill. The ice is around eight to eighteen inches and the fishing didn’t go very well for us this time. Then today it was a race against the clock to back to Butte before the Dallas Cowboys played I just made it back in time it was pretty close. The Cowboys were playing the New York Giants; and they lost. In between commercials I would run out to my truck and unpack my truck little by little until the game was over. A little bit after I got to the dorms my roommate showed up and the rest of the floor started to show up to. I finished watching the football game and then my roommate and some others ordered some pizza from Pizza Hut. So while I waited for the pizza to arrive I ran down to my Grandparents to get my Guitar Hero that I left there while I was back all week. Well school starts tomorrow and I’m pretty excited, I’m going to get up around seven or eight to go lift and run.

Busy Busy Busy

It has been a very long week during inventory. I made it down to Butte on Monday morning and went straight to work, this whole week I’ve worked from 8 until 5. Since the dorms were not reopened until today I’ve been staying at my aunt’s house in Ramsay. On Wednesday after work my aunt and uncle and I went to my Grandma’s and Grandpa’s house for dinner, he is an excellent cook he cooked a huge roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes and roles. Thursday night was my first night back in the old dorm room; my girlfriend came down and stayed with me to help me unpack. So maybe I had to bribe her a little with taking her to dinner before she would come down here. We went to The Land of Magic it was so amazing I got the chicken pasta. Well I’m going home tonight so I can get some groceries and see my friends before they return to college. I’m really excited because I get to sleep back in my queen bed and my father and I will be going ice fishing the next to mornings I can’t wait.

Fish Crazy

Well Christmas break is over for me tomorrow and I have mixed feelings about it. I’m sad that I have to leave my family and friends but yet I’m excited to start school again. I’ve been fishing out of my mind these last couple of days; I went ice fishing with my dad on Wednesday, then on Friday I went Ling fishing until 1 A.M. with two of my buddies from Tech. Then woke up at 5 A.M. that same morning and went ice fishing with my dad and my buddies from Tech. Over these three days we caught five Rainbow Trout, four Ling and six Perch these were awful days for fishing because the wind was blowing 40 MPH but I still had a blast. So to kill some time last night I went up to Sportsman’s Warehouse, I was walking throughout the fishing section and I was looking at the Vexilar fish sonar’s. Now I want to buy one how stupid was it of me to go to Sportsman’s Warehouse because I always end up spending money. I think it would be sweet to work at Sportsman’s Warehouse but there lies one problem I wouldn’t make any money because I would spend it all there. Well I had a blast over Christmas break with my family and my friends and I hope that next Christmas break is just as fun.

2008

Happy New Year! Well the year 2007 is finally in the history books for good. To start out the celebration of 2008, my friend Kasey and his girlfriend came out to my house last night and we played Guitar Hero for about two hours. Then my girlfriend and her cousins came out later and we played Battle of the Sexes board game. Just to give you a brief history this game has generally been dominated by the girls probably a 0-10 record favoring the girls, but old lady luck was not on the girl’s side last night the boys finally beat the girls. This will be a night in history for the boys to remember. After dominating in Battle of the Sexes we started to watch the countdown till the ball dropped. While watching this we would make our way outside to light off fireworks throughout the whole night. Then after a wild time with the fireworks we went back in side just in time to see the ball drop and wish a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
