We Must Protect This House

Hello my loyal blog readers. This blog is coming from our local library, which makes me bring up my next subject. I’m probably in the library around three days a week, give or take a day. So I’m sitting in the library last night, and I take a break from procrastinating with my Business Ethics paper. I’m looking around, and I see three different people on their cell phones texting. This makes me laugh and think about how people come into the library for many different reasons. Some are to get away from distractions and to get work done, yet people bring their cell phones with them, because let’s just say that texting is not just something we do, it’s a way of life these days. Now I’m guilty of this as well, because I bring my cell phone into the library even though I want to be focused and get work done. Think about if you do the same. Really, think about how many texts you send in a day or about when you’re texting in class instead of paying close attention. Has texting taken over our lives? Well, now that I got that out in the open I feel much better. Well we traveled to my home town yesterday to play the Carroll College Saints and we lost. Well to sum up the game Carroll scored on the first play of the game but our offense charged down the field 81 yards and touched it off with a touchdown. Carroll scored two more times on us so at halftime the score was 7-21. We didn’t come out the second half like we did at the beginning of the game, our defense made some big stops but we couldn’t capitalize on them unfortunately. We have a good team but we just need to put everything together and play up to our potentials. Well we play the Northern Lights from Havre; they will make the long journey down to our house which we will defend. Well another week in school and life well check back in later this week!!!

Were coming CC!!!!!

Well this football season so far has not been exactly what everyone thought it would be, but the year is not even close to being over, and we aren’t going to give up. We have our rivals next, the Carroll College Saints, and they are number one in the nation. We are going to give them a run for their money, like every year, but this year is going to be different! So I sold my 1987 Ford pickup truck, and now I’m in the process of buying another vehicle. I don’t know what I want but something with good gas mileage. I don’t know what it is, but it seems like during the fall semester of school I just don’t really feel like school much. I don’t know if it’s because I’m so busy or the weather, but during spring semester I really like school and don’t feel so run down. Now don’t get me wrong, I love Montana Tech and everything, but my life is so crazy, and from football to homework I stay really busy. Being an athlete, a student and trying to have a social life is a very large load to have. My math teacher from last year and I were talking, and with many years of teaching athletes she has seen students have only two of the three and be successful at them. So if you haven’t heard, we lost last weekend in Billings to the Rocky Bears which Montana Tech hasn’t done in I think eight years. We stayed at the Billings Hotel which has a waterslide and the O-Line and I went down many times, probably too many times. We had around twenty football players go down the slide at a time making a huge train which probably wasn’t the safest thing to do, but it was at least fun. Then we would go down the other slide which was short and fast with all of us and make a wave pool out of the swimming pool which the littler kids seemed to enjoy, so it was all in good fun.

When you’re in a hole, quit digging!!!!!

This weather is driving me crazy. One day it’s 90 degrees, and then it’s raining for a week. That’s Montana for ya. Well, I started again for the Diggers this past weekend. Our opponents were the University of Montana Western Bulldogs, and we finally won a game (21-17). With our 0-2 record before this weekend, Coach Green kept telling us a simple saying: “When you’re in a hole, quit digging,” and that’s exactly what the Oredigger football team did on Saturday afternoon. Every game I get more and more relaxed and have more and more fun. This by far was my enjoyable game yet this year, because first we won the game, and second of all, it was at home with our KICK ASS crowd. Since my mom was already down here, my dad came down Friday night as did Abby, so my house was pretty packed. That night me and the rest of the offensive linemen went to the Montana Club for a pregame dinner and ate too much food. Saturday after we beat Western, I had most of my family over to my house for I guess what you would call a post-game social. We ordered pizza, and my little cousins ran around like chickens with their heads cut off. Then yesterday I watched my fantasy football and the NFL religiously, and around three, Abby headed back to Missoula, and I had football plus film. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you about the career fair. I walked around being pretty nervous, I guess you could say, but I sucked it up and ended up getting an interview with Rio Tinto and thought it went very well. They had me sign up on their website and fill out an application so we’ll see what happens. Cross your fingers.

Buss Ride From Hell!!!!

So I can officially say that I had the bus ride from HELL to Eastern Oregon last Thursday night. It was pretty bad. I rode from Butte to Missoula in the bus’s bathroom puking all the way there, and then we arrived in Missoula, and I puked in the gas station’s bathroom for let’s say thirty minutes. My outlook on life during those hours was pretty awful. I wanted to quit school and football. I’m not joking around. I was wishing I was dead LOL. Then the ten hours left went terrible too. I lied on the floor, but my stomach was killing me, and I just wanted to be in a bed. Then we got to Eastern Oregon, and our hotel rooms weren’t ready, so I slept in the lobby for about an hour until Cole Berg’s room was ready. I slept on his floor for another hour, and then I begged the housekeeper lady to clean my room so I could sleep. Coach Green let me sleep through practice so I could get better for the game the next morning, and it worked. I felt loads better for the game and played pretty well since it was my first game starting in my college career. The bus ride back went much better, and we got home around 4:45 in the morning. My mom came down from Helena yesterday to help me put the finishing touches on my house and also to bring my suit for the career fair tomorrow. I love when my mom comes down to see me, cause then I get a home cooked meal way better than what I eat during the week and she just mothers me, which is nice every once in a while. We went to Wal-Mart last night at like 9 and didn’t get home till late, and we got some essentials for my house like food and other goodies. Well, I’ll let you know how the career goes and if I get any leads on job opportunities.

Cold Season!

Well being sick is never a good thing and I have been sick for the past four days with a stuffy nose and soar throat. Well school is starting out pretty well it seems like at the beginning of every semester we do tons of reading which I hate doing it makes me fall asleep but you got to do what you got to do. This past weekend Abby came back over Friday and we didn’t do much go and get dinner at Arby’s which was nothing spectacular but satisfying. Saturday was a great day off from football and school which I used very intelligently by watching many movies and relaxing. My buddy John came down and that night Abby ended up going to bed early so John and I watched Van Wilder and Jackass the Movie which put me in bed around 1 in the morning. Sunday John left and I had practice and film from the game on Thursday which didn’t go well for the Offensive Line because of our performance during the game. Well I don’t have much else to say because of my bum around weekend talk to yeah later gators!!!
