The Big 20!!!!

Well I hope you all had a vey merry Christmas and that you all got to spend time with your family since that’s really what Christmas is all about. I can remember back when I was little and Christmas Eve was the longest day it seemed like, I just wanted to open all my presents. It seemed like I would try to sleep-in but couldn’t then it would seem like I watched the clock tick every second until that night. But the older I get it, Christmas doesn’t seem like it used to be, and it really sucks. I used to get super excited to open presents and have the family come over, but the last couple of years I guess it just hasn’t been the same. I guess that’s what happens when you start to grow up and become an adult, but I hope I’m wrong. Well now Christmas Eve is when we open presents and we don’t start till around nine o’clock, I got a bunch of cowboys fan gear.
Like two blankets one from my mom and one from Ms. Abigail, also Cowboys popcorn bowls, a Cowboys jacket from Ms. Abigail but it’s a little too small so she’s going to get me bigger size. Well now on Christmas we watched the new Batman movie the Dark Night since none of my family had seen it and once again it is a wicked sweet movie.
Then I traveled down to East Helena to Ms. Abigail’s house so I could open her presents, we ate a late lunch there and then went up to my house for a prime rib dinner. Tomorrow is the big day the days of all days MY BIRTHDAY I’ll be twenty years old and loving life. We are going Vegas bowling and Ms. Abigail is taking me to lunch then my parents are taking me out to dinner. My family goes above and beyond on Birthdays, they are a very big thing to all of us, and so we celebrate them like it. Well ill let you all know how my Birthday goes! Again hope you all had a great Christmas!!!!!

Snow Snow Snow!!!!!

Well everyone all I can really say is snow, it has snowed here in Helena for the past couple of days and I love it. There’s just so many things that you can do outside like sledding, skiing, ice fishing but with the sow comes shoveling which we do every time it freaking snows, so people can get into their storage units. Well last Thursday I went down to Missoula to do some Christmas shopping with Ms. Abigail and after she “HELPED” me wrap the presents like I said she would. While down in Missoula I filled my truck up with gas, my aunt does most of her grocery shopping at Safeway and she has built up points to get money off your gas purchase, so I got 17.5 gallons of medium grade gas for five dollars even. Which is amazing, we figured it out and it cost somewhere around thirty cents a gallon, how sweet and since Butte doesn’t have a Safeway gas station she lets me use them. Well Christmas is getting down to the wire and I can officially say that I have done all my shopping and glad to be done. Well since I have been on break I really have done nothing to exciting yet, except hang with a couple old high school friends. I haven’t done any fishing or skiing yet but I have time still, it’s just been so darn cold outside. Well I’m cooking dinner tonight so I’ll check back in on Christmas.

Bone Chilling!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go! Well it’s very true everyone, Christmas is only ten days away and my Birthday is only twelve days away. So this means I have only twelve days of being a teenager left, what a road it has been (LOL). So since my last blog I have done some Christmas shopping but not much, on Thursday I plan on traveling down to Missoula, so Ms. Abigail and I can get our Christmas shopping done and I will and up begging Ms. Abigail to help me wrap my presents. Now when I mean “help” me wrap my presents, I pretty much mean do it for me, since Ms. Abigail is such an artist with the wrapping paper and ribbon. Well this cold weather has just been bone chilling; I have been putting my truck in my garage, which is underneath my house so it stays nice and warm for the morning trip to school. But don’t get me wrong I’m glad this weather is hear for two reasons, first this cold weather is the only thing that will kill all of the beetle’s that are killing our trees and second so the lakes will freeze over and I can go ice fishing. I have my last two finals tomorrow and I’m very happy to get this semester over with and move on. I have been getting ready for the trip home by, filling the truck up with gas which only cost me thirty dollars which is kickass, washing all my clothes and getting them packed up and finally cleaning up my house. Well to all you college students I hope your finals go great and to everyone else get your Christmas shopping done!

Studying My Buns Off!

Hello everyone I’m so sorry about not writing a blog in a long time, I have just been swamped and I finally got the time to sit down and breath. So between studying for all my tests, shoveling all the snow we have been getting and working out I have barely have enough time to eat and sleep. So I’m getting pretty excited, okay really excited for Christmas Break to start and go home, so I can get a lot of rest and relaxation with a fare share of ice fishing. sd I love ice fishing, if you haven’t ever gone ice fishing; I’m telling you that you are definitely missing out on lots of fun. I’ll be mostly going out to the Silos which is the South end of Canyon Ferry, but I plan on making some trips down to Butte so I can ice fish will Sully and Boe up at George Town and Clark Canyon. So if you haven’t noticed like me Christmas is getting closer by the minute and I have done none, zip, zero, zilch, of shopping for Christmas. I definitely need to get my stuff together and to put some icing on the cake my mothers Birthday is on Tuesday, which is the day of my last finals, so I can head home for her Birthday. I’m excited to go home and not have to worry about tests, quizzes or homework, even having to attend classes. I have two finals on Friday, math and accounting, so I have been studying my buns off. I pretty much stay up at the library every night until they close around eleven, then come home go to bed, wake up and then head right back up to my little study room that I checkout every time. Well good luck to everyone on their finals!

Glad To Be Back!

Hello everyone. Let’s just say I’m glad to be back in Montana. Now don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy going on trips to larger cities, but there’s about a thousand reasons why Montana is way better. I have to admit that not seeing the sun for three or four days was pretty depressing. The sun just gives you energy, and I’m pretty sure it’s necessary for human life. Now since the concert wasn’t until Sunday night, we ended up making our way to the Tacoma Mall since it was only about 10 minutes away. This mall was the largest I have ever been in. It had two Abercrombie & Fitches, Old Navy, American Eagle, Aeropostale, and too many more to say. Just Sports caught my eye, so I decided to swing in there and ended up buying my sister’s boyfriend a present and even bought myself my own present for Christmas for Abby (lol). I found a really cool Cowboys hat, and she can never find a Cowboys hat, so I just bought it. So now the AC/DC concert. This was a sweet concert, mostly because they played tons of songs that I knew, but one song they didn’t play which made me mad was Back in Black. It’s one of my all time favorites. Our seats were to the right of the stage in the first tier in row 32. These seats were very good especially since we paid only a hundred dollars for them. My dad doesn’t really like concerts, so he stood in his seat only for a couple of songs and then went down by the main door and watched a bunch of people get kicked out. We drove home Monday and stopped at an outlet mall just outside of Tacoma. I spent $85 dollars at the Nike outlet store. After we got home around 8:30 last night, I had to drive to Butte. It was really, really dark outside. Well, I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, and you all better start getting ready for Christmas.

A Little Bit of Rock!

My blog today is coming to you from Snoqualmie pass in Washington, just on the outskirts of Seattle. I’m currently sitting in the third row seat of our Yukon, while my dad is driving us over this 70 mile pass. Right now we are driving in a whiteout with lots of snow and rain. We are having a nice family trip (lol) over to Tacoma, Washington to the AC/DC concert. My mom is pretty much the biggest rock and roll fan you will ever meet; you might have gotten a hint from my earlier blogs about my mom playing Guitar Hero. I’ve been to many rock concerts in my day. My first concert ever was Aerosmith at the Gorge, my second concert was Matchbox Twenty, third was Van Halen, fourth was a bunch of little concerts at Rock’n the Rivers with bands like Styx, Boston, Eddie Money and many more. My fifth concert was one of the best of my career: The Rolling Stones in Missoula. And now next in line is this AC/DC concert. Now if you aren’t familiar with any AC/DC songs here are a handful: Back in Black, Hells Bells, TNT, Dirty Deeds, The Jack, Black Ice, and Highway to Hell. The concert is tomorrow meaning Sunday night at eight, so we have all day tomorrow to explore the third largest city in Washington. Hopefully there are a couple of cool things to do; I assume there would be. Well I’ll take some pictures during the concert and check back in later next week. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone. I know it’s been a while since I have last blogged, and I’m so sorry. I have just been so busy with the last week of school and driving to get home for Thanksgiving. In my last blog, I had told you that I would be pretty much living in the library for the last week of school before we got out, and that statement was very much true. I ended up finding two other students from my classes to study with, which helps out so much, because then we get a lot accomplished and study for longer periods of time. I got home last Friday night, and my father’s birthday was Thursday, so my family waited for me to get home so we could go out to dinner and open presents together. We ended up going to the Macaroni Girl which is always really good. I always get the chicken parmesan. Since this was my dad’s 50th birthday we got him something pretty big for it. We got him a new fish finder for our 20ft Lund. This baby does it all: it has a built in GPS and has maps of all the water in the United States, and it even shows the different types of structures on the lake floor. Well this week my parents and I have been looking for a new vehicle for me to drive. So far our luck has been pretty bad, but we are keeping our fingers crossed. For Thanksgiving, we will be traveling to Whitehall to my aunt and uncle’s house to eat dinner. All the girls come back and go shopping on BLACK FRIDAY, and the guys stay and hunt for the monster bucks. Well, I hope everyone has a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Cow Elk!

Well, hello to all my blog readers. Just a warning, this blog is going to talk a lot about hunting, which shouldn’t come as a surprise. So last Friday, I went up to our hunting cabin, and let’s just say I had a blast. I ended up shooting my cow elk early Saturday morning at just around day break. My dad, my sister’s boyfriend and I were walking across the creek and just about into the trees so we could make our way down the valley to our spot. As we were just about into the trees, two animals that I thought were does, came trotting off the other side valley towards us, but to our surprise, they were two cow elk. So we shot them right on the spot and dragged them back to the cabin and had them hung by 8:30 that morning. After we got the elk hung up, we heard a lot of other shooting going on, so we decided to back out hunting, but since I already shot my elk I just scouted for the others. The next day was just about the same thing: a lot of hunting which meant a lot of scouting for me, but I don’t mind because it’s fun to see more elk and help our friends out. We skinned my elk up at the cabin to keep from getting a mess in our friend Bill’s garage; we have to hang it there because we don’t really have a garage since we sold our house. Sunday night I watched the Cowboys play a very hard fought game, which ended in our favor thank God. Tony Romo is finally back, which is about a thousand times better than having Brad Johnson at QB. This week I’ll be doing a lot of studying since I have two tests on Friday, Pre-Calc and Accounting. Have a good week, and I’ll check back in before I head home!

OVER!

Hey to all you readers. Life has officially slowed down because football is now over. We went up to Havre on Thursday night after practice and got beat badly. The score I think was 35 to 3, not in our favor by far. On Friday we sat around the hotel just hanging out waiting for the day to go by, which kind of sucked but I think it’s a lot better than riding up Friday night on the bus because at least we could walk around instead of being stuck on a bus for five hours. After the game, I stayed in Havre with my parents at their hotel room. I sat in the hot tub for a while, and then Sully, his parents, Ashton, Shannon, his parents, and my parents ate pizza in the pool area and talked. Saturday we came back, and I went down to Whitehall to my uncle’s so I could try to find a nice buck. I didn’t see any bucks, only around eight does. On Sunday, my dad and I went hunting up at our spot and didn’t see a thing, but there was a lot of fresh elk poop around so that’s always a good sign. Well last night after hunting, I went to Sportsman’s Warehouse and bought a ground blind for hunting. I also bought a doe call called a bleat and a buck call called a grunt which I will use in my new blind. Tonight I’m going over to Whitehall so I can hunt tomorrow morning and night which I hope goes a little better than last time. On Friday I will be heading up to our hunting cabin that we have rented every hunting season since I can remember. It’s an old cabin that doesn’t have electricity so everything runs on car batteries but there is a landline phone there. It’s kind of weird. Well, I’ll talk more about the cabin next time! Have a great week.

A Little Spice!!

Hello to all my blog readers. First things first, I’m giving a shout out to Justine because I forgot to give her one. So I’m sure you have all heard that we lost to Carroll College on Saturday at Alumni Coliseum. The score was 10 to 6. We started out the game hard and fast and didn’t stop until the last buzzer, but we didn’t come out on top. The score at halftime was 3-0 in our favor, and we ended up kicking another field goal. Carroll kicked a field goal and scored on a quarterback scramble. Is it just me or does Carroll just get lucky every time the game is on the line? We beat them in the stat books again, but somehow they find a way to beat us. But I have another three years, and at the minimum, I will play them six more times which gives me great pleasure. So something very exciting happened to me today at football film. I was announced the offensive player of our game, which an offensive lineman doesn’t usually ever get, so it made it that much more special. So this week is going to have some spice in it. Our game is on Friday night instead of Saturday afternoon because Northern and the high school share a stadium, and the high school has a playoff game Saturday, so our game got bumped. But tomorrow I have work, school, weight lifting, film and finally a trip home for the third time this year, so I can vote. I’m not going to say much about the elections except I’m glad they’re over because I’m so sick of the commercials and everything. So I will go home Monday night so I can hunt Tuesday morning then vote then come home to practice. We will have practice on Tuesday through Thursday then make our way up to Havre Thursday after practice for our last game of the season. Our coaches started telling us today and we will be told many times over this week that our season and team will be remembered by our last game and how we perform. Well, hopefully I get something hunting, and have a great week everyone!

This is Our House!

Welcome my blog readers to an update of my life! So the last time we chatted, hunting season was beginning and we were going to play the Rocky Mountain Bears. Now for an update of both. On Saturday, we did exactly what I said in my last blog, punching the Bears right in the face and sending them packing. Now the game was a good game, and we mentally and physically outdid them on Saturday. Our offense did well putting points on the board, and our defense did good by keeping points off the board from a high power throwing team. Now after the game, Abby and I went to Helena so I could go hunting on Sunday. Saturday night after we arrived to Helena, Abby, my parents and I went to Applebee’s for some dinner. The service is pretty hit or miss there, and that night was a miss in my books because of my dad’s dinner. We all got our dinners, and my dad’s ribs were cold and sauceless. So he sent them back, and they forgot about them for around an hour. So they paid for his ribs, but they still weren’t very good when he finally got them. We were not very impressed. So now let’s talk about opening day. We went up to Rimini from the Basin side, which I can officially say is a long ass way up to our hunting spot, like seventeen miles from the city of Basin. So after arriving to our spot (which we have hunted on opening day since the beginning of my hunting days), we couldn’t get our four wheelers up the trail because of the snow. So we walked up this pretty steep trail, but my dad and I didn’t have a good feeling because the snow was very crunchy while we were walking on it, which means that the elk can hear you from a distance. So instead of doing our usual walk through our spot, we did some walking and then sitting hoping something would walk to us. On another subject, we play Carroll College this Saturday at Alumni Coliseum. Carroll is still ranked number one, but unlike last time, we plan on knocking off the best team in the NAIA. We plan on doing this just like we have done it the past couple of weeks by punching them right in the face and sending them packing. Coach keeps telling us about the great opportunity we have ahead of us to play and beat the team with the longest win streak in the nation. On Thursday I will travel over to Whitehall after practice to do a little whitetail hunting at my uncle’s like I did much of last hunting season. Well, hope you like my blog. Chat with you later.

Opening Day!!!!

Happy Friday already everyone! So is it just me, or does the week just fly by? It seems like we just finished our football game, and then I blink and I’m lined up against our next opponent. I’m being serious. I can’t believe how fast our season has gone by and especially the weeks. I just really can’t explain it. Well on a more serious note: this is a shout out to Andrew Bishop, my Madden partner. Now for a little history, Bishop and I play our share of Madden together and I have only beaten him once in my life. But I made history on Tuesday night playing with our usual teams, San Francisco for him and Dallas for me. The first game was very good with ME ON TOP 10-7. Now due to Bishop’s frustration, he wanted a rematch, so of course I agreed, and I’m proud to say I SPANKED HIM 25-7. Now for me beating him only two times before this, I’m pretty proud of this. Well this weekend is one of my most favorite weekends during the year. HUNTING SEASON BEGINS. After the game on Saturday, Abby and I will travel home so I can hunt Sunday morning and then travel back to Butte for film at 3:15. I’ve never shot anything opening day, but I will try to change that, so wish me luck. I shoot a Remington model 700, 300 ultra magnum stainless steel synthetic with a 3-9 Buckmaster Nikon scope. It shoots 3500 feet per second, and I like to call him “old reliable”. Since football cuts three weeks into hunting season and I can’t go home every time I want to hunt, I go over to my Aunt and Uncle’s in Whitehall to their house to hunt whitetails. I’ll probably start going over Monday nights after film and hunting Tuesday mornings. Now over there I shoot the old rifle I used to hunt with, my 30-06, which works perfect. This weekend before I can go hunting, we play the Rocky Mountain Bears, and we have some pay back to dish out. Last time we met, in Billings, the conditions were grueling, the temperature was roasting (around 97 degrees) and there was not a cloud in sight. Now I’m not blaming the conditions for our loss, but they were definitely a factor. But I feel like we’re in much better shape than the Rocky Bears, and the first play of our game we plan on just punching them right in the face and sending them packing. Well I’ll check back in later. Good luck to all hunters going out on Sunday!

Cowboys 4-3???????

Does anyone know what the hell is up with the Dallas Cowboys? Because I don’t. We have a powerful offense and not a shabby defense, but we are not winning. We have lost two in a row, which is way too many. Today we lost to the St. Louis Rams who are one of the worst teams in the NFL and had one of the worst performances that I have seen. But I’m sticking with my Cowboys to win the Super Bowl this year; this team has the rawest talent and will dominate. Now to more of a local subject, we won our second straight game by beating the University of Montana Western Bulldogs. Good job Diggers! My shoulder is a lot better, and I started again this weekend. The game started out with us going up 17-3 in the first half. We talked at half time and told ourselves that we weren’t going to let them back in the game, but that’s exactly what we did. Everyone blinked, and the score was 17-17. Our team looked like Western did in the first half. Our defense made a couple stops, and then our offense put the game in the history books by driving down the field and scoring one more time and then eating the clock up with us big men up front. After the game, I road back with my parents, which is always more comfortable than the bus. My parents came down Friday night and left this afternoon. Like always, it was nice seeing them and having them around to talk to and hang with. So I’m getting really excited for HUNTING SEASON TO START this coming Sunday. I don’t know where I’ll be hunting at, but I will be hunting somewhere. Well, this week is just like many others with tests, school, football and life LOL!! Have a great week everyone.

First Snowing!!!!

Hello my loyal blog readers. I’m writing this from the warmth of my house while sitting in my lazy boy chair watching the San Diego Chargers beat the hell out of the New England Patriots. This to me is a great thing, because I despise the Patriots, mostly because of Tom Brady and since they are always too good. Well to stay on subject, we won this weekend. We beat Eastern Oregon 13-10 in a very closely battled game. Unfortunately, I didn’t play this game because of my shoulder being injured. I really don’t know how I hurt it, but all I know is that I couldn’t pick up my left arm above my head or even put pressure on it. So I had the best seat in the house for our team’s second win of the season. It was a freezing cold game with lots of that white stuff. So we can officially say that our first snow of the season has come and that it didn’t come secretly. It’s been snowing here for a couple of days now. The snow isn’t sticking really, but it’s still freezing cold outside. Abby didn’t make it down this weekend for my football game, but that’s okay, because she was in Helena with her family for her brother’s birthday. My parents came down Thursday for the Scholarship Banquet at the mall here in Butte, and then they stayed till this afternoon. Well this week should be busy, like always, but at least this week will have snow on the ground to spice things up.

Grilled Cheese Dipped in Applesauce!

So on the day of our game it was raining and overcast outside, which usually are the ingredients for a sloppy game, but the field conditions weren’t that terrible for our game against the Northern Lights. So we lost our game against the Northern Lights, if you haven’t heard. We lost 16-9, which is a heartbreaker for our Digger team; we aren’t going to give up this season even though our season isn’t going as we hoped it was. I started once again against the Lights. I feel like I played a pretty good game but I did jump offsides, so on Tuesday I will have to run a full gasser after practice. After the game my parents, sister and her boyfriend Vance, aunt, grandfather, and Abby came over to my house to eat tacos. It was fun to have everyone over and to get to talk with them and watch football. Everyone didn’t stay long, and then my parents and sister made their way back home to Helena so they could move into their new apartment. Last night Abby and I walked down to some of my buddies’ house and watched football and ate some pizza. We stayed there until around 11pm, and we both were so tired that we decided to come home and hit the hay. Sundays for me usually entail watching football and checking my fantasy football team. This Sunday was the first Sunday that we have not had to practice. We only had film, so it was nice. Abby and I made grilled-cheese sandwiches with tomato soup (of course I dip my sandwiches in applesauce, which probably most of you think that it’s gross, but don’t hate on it till you’ve tried it). Tomorrow I have to lift, go to school, and watch film, so I have a pretty busy day, but NO practice will be a nice break in the action. Well I’ll check back in with you all later this week!!!!!!

The Northern Lights are Running Wild in The Land of The Midnight Sun!

So the Northern Lights are running wild in the land of the midnight sun according to Coach Green. Northern seems to think that this game is going to be a blow out in their favor for some reason. On some internet site they seem to think that our Offensive line is terrible, and Northern’s Defensive line seems to think that theirs is the best. This weekend is supposed to be rainy and cold, so this game will be interesting. Abby is on her way down for the weekend to watch me play football, and my parents are doing the same. So is it just me, or does your week go as fast as mine does? It seems like I just played a football game yesterday, and now we have another one tomorrow. So great news everybody! The Sunday after Thanksgiving I will be going to see AC/DC in Seattle unless we make the playoffs in football (which I hope we do). Well nothing really exciting happened this week, so Ill chat with you later!!!

We Must Protect This House

Hello my loyal blog readers. This blog is coming from our local library, which makes me bring up my next subject. I’m probably in the library around three days a week, give or take a day. So I’m sitting in the library last night, and I take a break from procrastinating with my Business Ethics paper. I’m looking around, and I see three different people on their cell phones texting. This makes me laugh and think about how people come into the library for many different reasons. Some are to get away from distractions and to get work done, yet people bring their cell phones with them, because let’s just say that texting is not just something we do, it’s a way of life these days. Now I’m guilty of this as well, because I bring my cell phone into the library even though I want to be focused and get work done. Think about if you do the same. Really, think about how many texts you send in a day or about when you’re texting in class instead of paying close attention. Has texting taken over our lives? Well, now that I got that out in the open I feel much better. Well we traveled to my home town yesterday to play the Carroll College Saints and we lost. Well to sum up the game Carroll scored on the first play of the game but our offense charged down the field 81 yards and touched it off with a touchdown. Carroll scored two more times on us so at halftime the score was 7-21. We didn’t come out the second half like we did at the beginning of the game, our defense made some big stops but we couldn’t capitalize on them unfortunately. We have a good team but we just need to put everything together and play up to our potentials. Well we play the Northern Lights from Havre; they will make the long journey down to our house which we will defend. Well another week in school and life well check back in later this week!!!

Were coming CC!!!!!

Well this football season so far has not been exactly what everyone thought it would be, but the year is not even close to being over, and we aren’t going to give up. We have our rivals next, the Carroll College Saints, and they are number one in the nation. We are going to give them a run for their money, like every year, but this year is going to be different! So I sold my 1987 Ford pickup truck, and now I’m in the process of buying another vehicle. I don’t know what I want but something with good gas mileage. I don’t know what it is, but it seems like during the fall semester of school I just don’t really feel like school much. I don’t know if it’s because I’m so busy or the weather, but during spring semester I really like school and don’t feel so run down. Now don’t get me wrong, I love Montana Tech and everything, but my life is so crazy, and from football to homework I stay really busy. Being an athlete, a student and trying to have a social life is a very large load to have. My math teacher from last year and I were talking, and with many years of teaching athletes she has seen students have only two of the three and be successful at them. So if you haven’t heard, we lost last weekend in Billings to the Rocky Bears which Montana Tech hasn’t done in I think eight years. We stayed at the Billings Hotel which has a waterslide and the O-Line and I went down many times, probably too many times. We had around twenty football players go down the slide at a time making a huge train which probably wasn’t the safest thing to do, but it was at least fun. Then we would go down the other slide which was short and fast with all of us and make a wave pool out of the swimming pool which the littler kids seemed to enjoy, so it was all in good fun.

When you’re in a hole, quit digging!!!!!

This weather is driving me crazy. One day it’s 90 degrees, and then it’s raining for a week. That’s Montana for ya. Well, I started again for the Diggers this past weekend. Our opponents were the University of Montana Western Bulldogs, and we finally won a game (21-17). With our 0-2 record before this weekend, Coach Green kept telling us a simple saying: “When you’re in a hole, quit digging,” and that’s exactly what the Oredigger football team did on Saturday afternoon. Every game I get more and more relaxed and have more and more fun. This by far was my enjoyable game yet this year, because first we won the game, and second of all, it was at home with our KICK ASS crowd. Since my mom was already down here, my dad came down Friday night as did Abby, so my house was pretty packed. That night me and the rest of the offensive linemen went to the Montana Club for a pregame dinner and ate too much food. Saturday after we beat Western, I had most of my family over to my house for I guess what you would call a post-game social. We ordered pizza, and my little cousins ran around like chickens with their heads cut off. Then yesterday I watched my fantasy football and the NFL religiously, and around three, Abby headed back to Missoula, and I had football plus film. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you about the career fair. I walked around being pretty nervous, I guess you could say, but I sucked it up and ended up getting an interview with Rio Tinto and thought it went very well. They had me sign up on their website and fill out an application so we’ll see what happens. Cross your fingers.

Buss Ride From Hell!!!!

So I can officially say that I had the bus ride from HELL to Eastern Oregon last Thursday night. It was pretty bad. I rode from Butte to Missoula in the bus’s bathroom puking all the way there, and then we arrived in Missoula, and I puked in the gas station’s bathroom for let’s say thirty minutes. My outlook on life during those hours was pretty awful. I wanted to quit school and football. I’m not joking around. I was wishing I was dead LOL. Then the ten hours left went terrible too. I lied on the floor, but my stomach was killing me, and I just wanted to be in a bed. Then we got to Eastern Oregon, and our hotel rooms weren’t ready, so I slept in the lobby for about an hour until Cole Berg’s room was ready. I slept on his floor for another hour, and then I begged the housekeeper lady to clean my room so I could sleep. Coach Green let me sleep through practice so I could get better for the game the next morning, and it worked. I felt loads better for the game and played pretty well since it was my first game starting in my college career. The bus ride back went much better, and we got home around 4:45 in the morning. My mom came down from Helena yesterday to help me put the finishing touches on my house and also to bring my suit for the career fair tomorrow. I love when my mom comes down to see me, cause then I get a home cooked meal way better than what I eat during the week and she just mothers me, which is nice every once in a while. We went to Wal-Mart last night at like 9 and didn’t get home till late, and we got some essentials for my house like food and other goodies. Well, I’ll let you know how the career goes and if I get any leads on job opportunities.

Cold Season!

Well being sick is never a good thing and I have been sick for the past four days with a stuffy nose and soar throat. Well school is starting out pretty well it seems like at the beginning of every semester we do tons of reading which I hate doing it makes me fall asleep but you got to do what you got to do. This past weekend Abby came back over Friday and we didn’t do much go and get dinner at Arby’s which was nothing spectacular but satisfying. Saturday was a great day off from football and school which I used very intelligently by watching many movies and relaxing. My buddy John came down and that night Abby ended up going to bed early so John and I watched Van Wilder and Jackass the Movie which put me in bed around 1 in the morning. Sunday John left and I had practice and film from the game on Thursday which didn’t go well for the Offensive Line because of our performance during the game. Well I don’t have much else to say because of my bum around weekend talk to yeah later gators!!!

Seem's Just Like Yesterday.....

Well another school year has officially started and I’m really excited for this fall to begin for many reasons. One main reason is FOOTBALL SESAON yes once again we have college football and the NFL getting back into the swing of things. Also hunting is another reason but I have a feeling this fall may be a little different then most others because of me actually playing this year so it’s pretty much a win loose situation, I actually get to play this year but I don’t get to hunt nearly as much but that’s perfectly okay with this dude! So me saying I’m a Sophomore in college makes me feel old I guess you cold say because it seems like just yesterday my mom was holding my hand walking me into my first day of Kindergarten and kissing me on the cheek saying, “Have a great day at school Drew.” Where does the time go everyone kept telling me growing up that every year you get older the faster time goes by but I didn’t really believe them until the past couple of years. So our first game is on Thursday and I’m getting really excited for it but with that excitement brings nervousness along with it. So for the game I have tons of family coming, from my great aunt to my sister’s boyfriend so I will have a rather large cheering section cheering me on!!!! Well hope everyone’s school year goes great and I’ll be back later this week!!!!!

Football Football Football!!!

So sorry it’s been so long since my last blog, what a crazy time it’s been around here from starting two a days to trying to unpack and get settled into my new place. Well two a days is officially over and I’m so glad I’m much over due for some R&R and it’s not looking good. So for a little update on how football is going I guess you could say I moved positions from guard to tackle and I LOVE every second of it. Our first game is coming way to fast and we are approaching nine days until kickoff. Now tomorrow I will be starting work in the dorms and I’m excited about that I worked the other day taking keys form the football players when they moved out of the dorms so I got to meet Annie my boss so is wicked cool LOL. Well this Saturday my parents are coming down for my scrimmage and so is my buddy John, his girlfriend and Abby are also coming down so we will be having some fun. Now today I finally got cable and internet put into my house by Bresnan and I’m really stoked because watching movies was getting pretty gosh darn old. Also today I had to bring the old BLUE BEAST into the shop for a tune up just to keep in roaring LOL!!!! Well I’ll check back this weekend after my scrimmage to let you know how I did.

Rockin' Out at Rockin' The Rivers

Well since the last time I checked in a lot has been going on. I got all moved in to my new house, went to Rockin’ the Rivers, and started Two a Days for football. To say the least it’s been very busy. I had my moving crew up here again along with a trailer and my moms Yukon full of stuff. It was such a hot day, but by late afternoon we had everything pretty well moved in and had even started unpacking. I didn’t actually stay here though until this last Thursday. Thursday night my roommate from last year came up and we hung out with some of our buddies. Rockin’ the Rivers was going on this weekend so Sean, Abby and I all drove down to Cardwell to see some concerts. Just as we saw the road construction signs, we drove over the hill to see the whole left side of the road covered with campers and tents. That night we saw Boston, Nazareth and STYX!!! The other bands were good, but Styx was great! Of course we stood by the fence for an hour and a half just to be in the very front. It was defiantly worth it. During the concert, two guys got pulled over the rail for fighting or something. It was pretty sweet. If you are expecting to get a good nights sleep, Rockin’ the Rivers is not the place for you! That night we stayed there, the people next to us were playing really loud music. After awhile the music stopped, but then the guitar playing started. It was as if our tent was on stage with a whole band playing around us. The zippers on the tent were shaking even. This off key guitar playing continued for a few more hours. The next day we drove back to butte to take Sean back, and then Abby and I went back to the concerts. This time we saw Bad Company, Fog Hat and EDDIE MONEY!!!! I really like Eddie Money too, so again we stood by the fence for an hour and a half just so we could have good spots. This concert was great too. Afterwards he was signing autographs so I bought a really sweet shirt, a CD and a picture of him and had him sign all of them! I wanted to get a good nights sleep that night since football was starting this week, so we drove back to butte at 1am. After the fun filled weekend, two a days started. I have never been so sore in my LIFE! In between practices I come back to my house and take a little snooze, but I guess its what ya gotta do. Only four more days of it and then we only have one practice a day. That’ll be nice. Well I better get ready for my next practice. I’ll get back to you in a few days on how the practices are going.

Memories Are Forever!!!

So this had to be the shortest summer ever in the history of summers! I feel like I did nothing all summer long but in reality what didn’t I do. Many things happened this summer Brett Farve came out of retirement, oil per barrel hit record highs of all time to John McCain and Barack Obama winning their parties. Well the summer started out by moving out of my home for fifteen years which hit me pretty hard because I grew up in this house and not having a home to come home to from my first year of school was pretty hard. But let’s say living down at the compound has made my family close I would say maybe a little to close LOL! So my first summer back I hung out with friends that I never hung with in high school but were close friends. We hung out for weeks straight and stayed up later than we really should have. But we slowly quit hanging out and the summer moved on just like any other summer would. Going camping was a total new event for me this summer not because I never camped before it was just we have not camped in a looooooooooooong time; it was a blast but like I said in an earlier blog it just didn’t have the camping feeling because I was partly living in the camper back at the compound. I think everyone can agree on that this summer really wasn’t that hot which has it up and down sides, it not being hot makes it hard to go swimming and floating when the water is freezing and upsides are not being hot and few forest fires are nice too. Went to one wedding, played out at the lake, went fishing but not nearly enough and cleaned up my truck to sell it. Now the summer is over and I wouldn’t have changed the summer one bit and summers come and go but the memories are forever!!!!!!!

I'll Let you Decide....

Well sorry it’s been awhile since I’ve written my last blog but what a crazy time it has been lately. Well I went down on last Thursday to move into my apartment for the school year and let’s just say that this place was not acceptable. The landlord or slumlord was supposed to have the apartment cleaned and ready for me to move into and we show up early Thursday morning and he had nothing done and we ended up not renting this apartment. This guy has over two hundred rentals and probably rents too many Montana Tech students and everyone needs to pay close attention to their landlord and make sure they do what they say. I’m not going to mention any names but if you would like to know more about whom it is I would gladly tell you in person. We ended up ridding around all day and finally found a house which is a one bedroom house on Mercury and Excelsior. This house is so SAWEET it is a three story house with a pull under garage and fits everything perfect. We tried to move into my house on Friday but we had to get an in depth credit check which I guess the owner of the property requires to rent her house which I’ll tell you about below. So we drove down on Friday for nothing but found a back up house incase this house didn’t go through. So all weekend we packed up stuff to bring down today and got up this morning and got a phone call from my landlord saying we passed with flying colors and we could move in today. So there is a stereotype for all football players I found out while trying to rent my house; people love to go to football games and cheer us on but when it comes to renting that is a whole different story. The owner of the house I’m renting did not want to rent to me due to I’m a football player which is not really fair. She was convinced that all football players do is party and wreck houses, I guess because she made me jump through hoops to be able to rent this house. I know not all people stereotype football players \and I know you get your occasional bad apple every once in a while but thinking that all football players are terrible people is just insane. The owner of my house made me put down a $1,000 deposit which was bumped up from $500 because I’m a football player which I’ll leave up to you to decide if you think is fair. Well in between the moving situation Abby, John, Rochelle and I went out to Hauser Lake on Sunday and did a little tubing and cliff jumping. But instead of taking my boat out we took Johns boat out and had a blast John had only drove his boat one other time so I gave him some help which I didn’t know if he wanted it but I gave it to him. So I'll be chatting back in on Wednesday on my last blog from Helena and I will be blogging on summing up the summer so stay tuned.

Moving On In!!!!

Well what a day it was, the moving process to Butte to say mildly is not an easy job. I have a two bedroom apartment to fill up and I’m bringing down a snowmobile trailer full of CRAP and my dad’s truck and my buddy Johns car has my clothes in the back seat. Well I can definitely say that I’m ready to move back to Butte and have football and school start. I’m not sure I will be this excited for everything to start in a couple of weeks or a month but I’m ready to move away from the compound. Tomorrow will be a very stressful day because everyone will be tired and it’s going to be hot outside will moving my stuff up to the third floor. My moving crew for tomorrow contains of me, mom, dad, Abby, John my cousin Blake and my Aunt so I think that we should be able to move me in quick (hopefully) lol!!!!! So my parents are going away this weekend so I think I might go camping or take the boat out. Well its getting pretty late and I’ll give you an update on how many fights my mom and I get into hopefully there’s none but I really really really doubt it.

Water = Great Time

So what a weekend it was it went from playing the Wii to getting sunburn. So on Friday my friend Kasey and I but I call him John went to the local swimming hole and tried to beat the heat which it was a huge success. After we went to Applebee’s for dinner but just had appetizers and then went to Abby’s house and played her brothers Wii which I really suck at my give me some time and ill be the champ at it. Saturday for me was a work day, we cleaned out storage units all day and I was really really really really hot outside which I don’t mind but just not having a place to beat the heat just really gets to yeah. We have A/C in our camp trailer but we have extension cords stretched across the compound to our trailer so if you have the A/C on too long or have to many appliances plugged in and running the breaker will blow and then you have to walk all the way on the opposite side of the compound and flip the breaker which I dread every freakin step. Now last night I did beat the heat because I went to Hauser Lake with Abby, John and his girlfriend Rochelle we took my dad’s boat out. We put in at York Bridge and boated up past Devils Elbow and anchored the boat and dove into the water which felt miraculous by the way. Then we drove up through the canyon and I jumped off the boat and went off the rope swing three times which was fun because I haven’t done that in a year or so. After a little fishing went down and guess what I caught a Carpeye LOL! I was really stoked but mad also because I didn’t get to fish long due to it was getting to dark and I didn’t catch any Trout. So today was another work day for me and I got really sunburn on my back because I was cleaning my truck to get ready to sell it and helping my parents work. Well have a great week and try to stay cool!!!!!

Can you handle the HEAT!

So another week at the storage units or more often I call it the compound LOL! This week has been very HOT and I don’t like it due to I have no place to go to beat the heat. So I have been doing all the pre stuff I guess you would call it for getting my new apartment ready, like switching the power into my name and getting an appointment with Bresnan so I can get cable and internet in my pad. So this week I had a new topper window and windshield installed into my truck because I’m getting ready to sell it; so I have been cleaning the upholstery and dusting everything. I even went to the car wash and power washed the back out it was pretty dusty but not to bad but now it’s in PRIME TIME CONDITION. So last night I went to the new movie Step Brothers and it is a SAWEET movie I haven’t laughed that hard for that long in a really long time. Just like last week I went to the midnight release of it, so of course me thinking that since it’s a midnight release and everyone was talking about it I had Abby go pick us up tickets and we went there an hour early and guess what we where the only ones there for a long time so didn’t need to go that early; oh well LOL!!! Well this weekend I’m fishing with my dad and I’ll be spending a lot of time in the water to beat the HEAT! Have a GREAT weekend!!

CARPEYE???

So dedicating your life to eradicating Walleye from Canyon Ferry I guess you could say is a pretty bold statement and shows my true feelings towards these garbage fish. To me there really is no difference in Carp or Walleye, might as well call them CARPEYE! So today I went CARPEYE fishing LOL and I personally caught one baby but my father on the other hand caught a huge old one which was really SAWEET because I have never seen a CARPEYE LOL this enormous. Well I have officially started the countdown until Madden 2009 is released on August 12th I have been doing research and I’m pretty positive that it is going to be sweeter than ever. I have sticky notes with the days until the ultimate game will be in my hands. So this week should be a pretty busy week due to I have to start moving like a said in my last blog and then my friends and I are going to rent a water trampoline for the day and have a barbeque. We are going to do this because I leave for football way before they go back to school so I’m really excited for this to happen. Well have a good week and try to stay cool!!!

The Dark Night!!!!

So after many days of traveling to Butte to find a place for me to live this next year I finally found an apartment; it’s a two bedroom, big living room, dining room and nice kitchen. So now the moving process is going to begin and I have a lot of crap to bring down there so I’ll be using my buddies for major lifting help. So last night Abby and I went out on a date; we went on a picnic at Cherry Park and had KFC chicken so that was scrumptious then after we went to the Dark Night which is the new Batman movie which is a kickass movie. Abby had bought our tickets online because they had a midnight release of the movie and I had thought it was going to be sold out which it was. So to get good seats we went to the movie around 10:45 P.M. and it didn’t start until 12:02 A.M. so that was a pretty long wait but my sweet Voyager phone kept me busy. I can not even start to explain how amazing the movie was; I think that this Batman movie was 10 xs better than the last one which is pretty hard to do since the last one was amazing also. So my dad received a phone call from the police today and a buck was hit by our storage unit and they had asked permission to shoot this buck so we complied and let them, but the gosh darn officer left the buck laying there. So my dad and I had to load it up and haul it way to the dump. Well I’ll be checking back in probably on Sunday to let you know how my weekend went.

Winter Wonderland In July

Well what a super fantastic week and weekend it was camping up at Twin Lakes with my Mom, Dad, Abby and my sister and her boyfriend for the last two days. We left Wednesday night and stayed on the Big Hole and camped because it was getting to late to drive the rest of the way. The next morning we went fishing on the Big Hole River and didn’t land a thing but my dad hooked a couple and had one up to shore then it got off. Later that day we went up the rest of the way and setup camp for the rest of our tour. So Twin Lakes is just a gorgeous place, the lake is so clear because no gas powered anything is allowed in the lakes, so people bring their float tubes or electric motors to get around the lake to fish. It’s really nice not having boats being loud and jet skies doing cookies in the lake right next to your camp. This place is so far back into the mountains that there is snow still on the ground and not just a little bit of snow I’m talking HUGE snow banks; we even had a snow ball fight! Now how many times have you heard that in the middle of JULY. We went fishing a lot up there and caught all Brook Trout, they are nothing huge by any means but a lot of fun to catch. So I’ve never had the Mosquitoes be so bad while camping anywhere in my whole life; we went through around six cans of bug spray and had our tent with a net around it up so that was nice. We brought the four-wheelers and drove them around but didn’t get a chance to on any real trips. The weather was beautiful the whole time except for the first night when the wind was howling like a tornado, but during the mornings it got pretty gosh darn cold so we made hot rocks and brought them to bed with us and those were a life saver I’ll tell yeah. Now on the way up and back I did a little bit of what you call the air guitar with Aerosmith, I know I’m pretty cool I was having a blast though so it’s okay. Now not having cell phone service for four days is pretty weird and you feel like you have lost all contact with earth it’s pretty funny and weird. Well I hope you enjoy my pictures and I’ll talk to you later this week! !!!!
